Sneak peek by Ego TV of the LiLA (Los in Los Angeles) music video from their single, “Million Stars,” where band members Danny, Eddie, Jeremy and Brian are transformed into 1960s outer space pioneers. Stay tuned for the official launch of this video directed by Steven Lippman.

Director Steven Lippman’s career has been in full throttle since he was a teenager: naturally transitioning from a professional surfer and skateboarder into the entertainment field as an international fashion model and actor.  When presented with the responsibilities of fatherhood in 1992, he tried his hand behind the camera to better insure the longevity of his creative career.  His stills photography career launched and soon after he had his eyes on the directional world.  Since joining Maneater as a broadcast director he has plowed forward and created a solid body of work. Lippman wrangles his life as a father, husband, photographer, director, surfer, skateboarder and environmentalist by keeping it all under one roof in Malibu.  Working in a home office can sometimes be hectic but he believes that, “having the distractions is better than not having the family around—family values are much more important.”

Living at the beach is a tough job—but somebody has to do it—yet being steps from the sand also means that he regularly seeks balance in the surf and is also a staple member of numerous environmental charities and organizations which he frequently provides service and support through partnership with his own organization, The Blue Project. Lippman was also recently named a member on the council for the first World Surfing Reserve in Malibu.

His directorial approach is in line with his focus as a photographer: on the idea and the concept. He most enjoys the challenge of stories that have a great deal of tension and those projects of the more avant-garde and creative nature.  Whether his final product is one still image or a 30 second commercial spot, he believes that, “it is about keeping the continuity so it has a clean, seamless flow.”  Boasting a portfolio of work for such high-profile and diverse clients as Paul Mitchell, Verizon, Billabong, Target, Fox and HBO, Lippman continues to produce stellar results for his clients and proceeds to keep his creative palate satisfied with his environmental and philanthropic work.

Lippman will be honored at the upcoming SurfAid International event as the opening of MSA’s Classic surfing contest on September 9, 2010 from 7 – 10 p.m. at the Malibu Family Wine’s tasting room on Mulholland Highway in Malibu.
